It is hard to imagine how one could find a better place to reside while in Hamilton than Riverglade. The elegant home and it's grounds, set right on the lovely, lush-banked Waikato river, is quiet and private, yet just a short walk from downtown Hamilton. This small city has excellent shopping, many fine restaurants, and an active nightlife. Not far by car from Riverglade is Hamilton Gardens, which are outstanding, yet free. The surrounding area is made up largely hilly, uncluttered pastures, fields and clear streams with tall mountains in the distance, and the ocean is only 90 minutes away. Also, we were able to depart in the morning, have a full day and evening in Rotorua, and return for a peaceful sleep at Riverglade. Our room was spacious and beautiful, with a comfortable bed, ample closet space and luxurious shower, and the dining room, living room, deck and grounds were very appealing and available for our use. Riverglade's owners, Anne and Wallace, are kind, attentive and personable. Their life experiences and fascinating, their varied breakfasts delicious, and they were helpful in every way possible, making our 5 days in New Zealand a total delight.

The location is nicely set along the Waikato River and not only were we met with a warm welcome, but we enjoyed the best cooked breakfast. Of all the motels we researched on the internet, this one certainly grabbed us as being the best value for comfort and security. We were certainly not disappointed by our choice. Personally, we give it 5 stars.

Anne & Wallace are incredible hosts! We greatly enjoyed our first nights in New Zealand because of their wonderful home, yummy breakfasts and genuinely warm interest in their guests’ enjoying themselves. We wish we could find a place like the Riverglade closer to home, because we would be regulars if we could!

After a very long trip from the US, it was wonderful to settle in at the Riverglade for a few nights. Ann & Wallace made us feel so welcome and gave us a great overview of New Zealand. Our room was luxurious and our breakfasts were home-cooked and yummy. The river setting was so tranquil, it was hard to leave!
